Janus approached Fresh01 in 2022 for a complete brand overhaul to solidify and strengthen the company’s positioning in East Africa. To create a stand out identity and colour scheme that will set them totally apart in the sector.

Since 2013 Janus has been specialising in delivering mobile security and remote area mission management solutions in Somalia, Puntland, and Somaliland, enabling clients to focus on achieving their business goals safely.

The Fresh01 solution was to depict the two faces of the ancient, mythical Roman God of Janus that was said to preside over the beginning and ending of conflict, and hence war and peace. The new Identity reflects the nature of their business and culture by sharing 2 generic ethnic faces of White and Black origin, with negative space that is an abstract representation of the coastline of The Horn of Africa. This then flows into the typography creating a rhythm.

Their main services offer safeguard to people, assets, and reputations, protecting clients by leveraging the security risk management framework of Acceptance, Protection, and Deterrence.
