Nice content, keep me updated!

We’ve recently worked with Soulscape to brand one of their lesser-known projects, and we’re pleased to be able to share the results with you!

Soulscape does fantastic work in Berkshire schools, from workshops that provide a space for young people to discuss issues around global warming to supporting children’s transition from primary to secondary school. But it’s not only the students they’re looking out for; they want to ensure the teachers know they’re appreciated too!

Alongside their team of volunteer bakers, they go into staff rooms and provide the hardworking teachers with cakes, coffee and other sweet treats! This project had been running unnamed and unbranded for some time, but we all agreed it was time to give it the recognition it deserves.

Drum roll, please, for CAKE!

We worked with Soulscape to develop this project’s name, logo and branding. It was great to get our teeth into a brief for sweet and creative!

So, why CAKE? Well, CAKE stands for Compassion And Kindness in Education, which summarises the project’s core values, and because they take cakes into schools. Genius.

Once we decided on the name, it was time to move on to the logo. What better way to communicate this project than a cupcake-inspired logo with a cherry on top?  It was essential to continue Soulscape’s distinctive colour scheme throughout this project. We prioritised their pink and purple colours as they have “sweet” connotations, which are paired with the orange to create an impactful contrast. It’s fun, approachable and bold enough to hold its own in the composition.

The cherry became an excellent brand accent, which we used to create patterns and other subtle design flares. Take a look at it in action.

We proposed designs for cake boxes, which the volunteers would use to bring their cakes into the schools or any future CAKE events.

Allergens are everywhere, but these branded ingredient tent cards allow the bakers to list their ingredients and help everyone stay safe!

Last but not least, merch. What baker wouldn’t want to get their hands on an exclusive CAKE apron? I know we all want one at Fresh01.
