Fresh01 are proud and excited to announce the launch of Second Nature-Security Skills for the Traveler a new and unique, multimedia rich, interactive e-learning course that has been developed exclusively for The Lockheed Martin Corporation.

Building on our success from other e-learning courses like Maxwell Lucas’ Travel Angel, and along with our extensive multimedia credentials, Fresh01 were asked to enter a competitive tender to develop an e-learning course for Lockheed Martin in 2010. Fresh01 won and were subsequently awarded the contract to develop Second Nature in June 2010, with scripts being delivered just 2 weeks later!

Developed over a period of 16 months, including close liaison with Lockheed Martin’s International Security Operations team in Bethesda, USA, Fresh01 engaged Lockheed Martin’s Corporate brand guidelines to create a course that would sit alongside the 3000 or so others already in The Lockheed Martin SABA Learning Management System.

Fresh01 were asked to treat Second Nature as a cluster of mini original feature film quality experiences with interactive questions at the end and during the course. All filming was captured in HD quality and then down-sampled to meet the SCORM demands of the SABA system. Each film was meticulously storyboarded and broken into bite sized pieces which were then signed off for accuracy prior to entering heavy periods of post production. The bespoke composed sound sculpture and music score has added hugely to the feel and scale of the course which greatly emphasises the depth of the films, brings pace, and links the whole visual together with the narration.

Fresh01 worked closely with the Lockheed Martin International Security Operations team throughout the production of Second Nature to ensure that every detail was measured, checked for accuracy and originality, and that the whole course would be successfully delivered to, and received by, several thousands of travelers around the world.

The Second Nature course is supported by a 3 disk set that contains DVD video and DVD Rom versions. This was also created by Fresh01 together with all support materials and direct marketing collateral both on and off-line. Phase II will include a roll out to mobile platforms and tablets.

Fresh01 were proud to be present at the premiere of the Second Nature course held at Lockheed Martin headquarters in Bethesda, USA on July 14th 2011.

Wise words taken from a document by from Ten23 Software

Tim Chang, from NVP, spoke last year at a little Web 2.0 event held in Orange County CA. There, he perfectly summarized a key design rule for social networks: build them for one or more of the seven deadly sins. Thanks to Wikipedia:
Lust :  Obsessive or excessive thoughts, usually sexual in nature
Gluttony :  Over-indulgence, over-consumption
Greed :  A sin of excess like lust and gluttony, but in reference to wealth
Sloth : Laziness, indifference, apathy
Wrath : Uncontrolled feelings of hatred and anger
Envy : Resenting another because they possess something you do not
Pride : Excessive love of self

I’m not saying you need to write an application that encourages one or more of the above, and I don’t
think Tim was either. Personally, I’d discourage it. But think about ways you can use them constructively
in applications:

Lust : Dating
Gluttony : Shopping
Greed : Budget, Financial
Sloth : Productivity
Wrath : Debate, Politics
Envy :  Shopping
Pride :  Online Identity Management

So, for example, you can create a personal productivity application that saves people time and money.
This will appeal to facets of the “7 deadly sins”, but not in such a way that encourages and promotes
behavior you don’t personally endorse.

Choose the platform that best serves your target audience. If you are building enterprise
applications, you will likely be looking at the BlackBerry (http://www.blackberry.com/developers). If you
are looking to build an application that has the furthest worldwide reach, you need to check out Nokia
(http://forumnokia.com). If you’re looking for an audience of progressive users that are heavy data
consumers, definitely consider the iPhone (http://developer.apple.com).

Fresh01 are delighted to announce the launch of  ECOVELOCITY 2011. Fresh01 won the account to become digital suppliers for the event, run by UK metro newspaper. The site was designed and built in an incredibly rapid time. Turnaround was 2 weeks from taking the brief to the live site. The show is intended to be a ‘festival of motoring packed with the very latest no-compromise, hi-tech and ultra-low-carbon vehicles and accessories.’
Fresh01 had to make the site clean and bright, and very simple to use, with a fully content managed Wordpress system. It features intricate javascript menus to make the site more dynamic and ‘fun’ to use. ‘In the absence of the British Motor Show in 2011, ecovelocity will be the most important and unmissable motoring event of the year, showcasing the best real-world cars for real-world motorists at a single location. see the new site here.

About UK Metro
At first it was only available in London, but now commuters in 16 of Britain’s major cities can pick up a free copy of Metro as they travel to work in the morning. Every weekday morning some 1.3 million copies are distributed across the UK making Metro the world’s largest free newspaper and the fourth biggest newspaper in the UK.

At the Web 2.0 Expo in San Francisco, Wired co-founder Kevin Kelly gave the first keynote of the day. His topic? The six trends he believes are most important for the connected world we live in going forward. Specifically, he broke these down into six verbs.
“In general these are the long term trends as we look forward over the next twenty years,” Kelly says. So what are they?

•    Screening — Kelly notes that whereas there used to be just the television screen and then the computer screen, now screens are everywhere. And increasingly, everything will be a screen — all surface. There will be a “one screen for all,” Kelly says.
•    Interacting — Right now, interaction is limited mainly to our fingertips, Kelly says. But the iPad is changing that — it’s about using more of your body now. And going forward, things like gestures, voice, cameras, and other things in our technology will transform the way we interact with everything. And yes, he brought up Minority Report.
•    Sharing — While most people think of this right now as the top level social ideas, “we’ve just begun this process,” Kelly notes. The self-tracking of everything we do is now coming into play, he notes. This includes location, realtime pictures and videos, etc.
•    Flowing — “We’re now into a new metaphor for the web,” Kelly says noting that we started with the desktop on computers, then pages for the web. Now the realtime stream connected to the web is the thing.
•    Accessing — We’re moving to a world where it’s about accessing information and media and not owning it. We see this now with the rise of Netflix, but soon that will fully hit the music space too.
•    Generating — “The Internet is the world’s largest copy machine,” Kelly says. Going forward, there will be an importance placed on things that cannot be easily copied. A key to this is an easy way to pay and content that is hard to copy. Immediacy is a key — if you want something right now versus when it can be copied. Personalization is another key, he says.
Kelly notes that not all of these things may hit in a major way, but this is how he sees things going right now.
